I'm not a free man: Ershad

Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad yesterday said “confusion” over holding of the next general election is over and JP is absolutely ready for the polls.

“There was a time when I was not a free man. I don't consider myself a free man at present either. But there is no doubt about the election,” Ershad said while inaugurating the party's digital campaign programme for the 11th parliamentary polls at his Banani office.

“Jatiya Party is fully prepared for the election. We will contest in all 300 constituencies if BNP does not participate in the polls. We will have other plans, if BNP joins the election,” he also said.

Ershad, also a special envoy to the prime minister said slogan of JP for the next election will be: “Again in state power holding hands of pallibandhu [Ershad]”.

Ershad said nomination board of JP will be formed shortly. “Quality candidates will be given nomination after taking interviews. Jatiya Party will achieve good results in the next election.” About the digital campaign, Ershad said the party's activities will be placed before 4.5 crore people everyday through the digital campaign; 40 IT experts will work in three shifts round the clock.
