Holy Cross school, college to open in Rajshahi city

The Holy Cross Brothers, a society of Catholic Church in Bangladesh, are setting up a school and college in Rajshahi city.

The 'Holy Cross School and College, Rajshahi' will be built on 14-bigha land in Boro Bongram area within three years, said sources.

Rajshahi city mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton laid down its foundation stone at a function yesterday.

Dr Subal Lawrence Rozario, Provincial of the Congregation of the Brothers of the Holy Cross in Bangladesh, chaired the function. "The school will maintain a high standard of education to help students compete in the changing global scenario," he said.

Bishop Gervas Rozario of Rajshahi Diocese said the school plans to introduce nursery to university level education from the institute in the future.

Among others, Rajshahi education board chairman Prof M Moqbul Hossain attended the function.
