HC upholds bail of JMI chairman

The High Court yesterday upheld a lower court order that granted bail to JMI Hospital Requisite Manufacturing Ltd's Chairman Abdur Razzak in connection with a case filed over supplying fake N95 masks for the use of healthcare professionals.

The court, however, ordered the investigation officer to complete the probe of the case in six months.

The HC bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Mohi Uddin Shamim came up with the verdict after rejecting a revision petition filed by ACC, challenging the lower court order.

On October 15 last year, a Dhaka court granted bail to Razzak in the case.
