HC order on bail of Khoka's son, daughter today

The High Court (HC) will deliver its order today on the bail petitions filed by Ishraque Hossain and Sarika Sadeque, son and daughter of former Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) mayor Sadeque Hossain Khoka, in two corruption cases.

The bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam yesterday fixed the date after concluding hearing on the bail petitions.

Ishraque, a BNP aspirant in the upcoming national election and his sister Sarika appeared before the bench, seeking anticipatory bail.

The ACC filed two cases with Ramna Police Station against the siblings in 2010 for not submitting wealth statements, said Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik.

He also said the cases are now under investigation.

Barrister Ajmalul Hossain argued for the siblings, while Advocate Khurshid Alam Khan appeared for ACC.
