Gas supply suspended in some areas of Dhaka for repair work

Gas supply is suspended in some areas of Dhaka -- including Jatrabari, Demra, Shyampur and Kadamtali -- from 2:30pm to 7:00pm today due to emergency repair work.

Deputy managing director of System Operation Department (South) of Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd, Shafiqul Islam, told The Daily Star that they need to switch off District Regulating System of Postogola for repair work -- for which gas supply in those areas will remain suspended.

The emergency works are needed as a supply line of Titas was cut on Thursday while carrying out canal development work in DND area, he said.

Titas authorities, in a press release, apologized to the residents of those areas for the inconvenience.
