Garment worker's body found

Body of a young garment worker was found in DIT Colony area of Narayanganj yesterday morning.

The deceased was identified as Siam Ahmed, 17, son of Sohel Miah from Deobhog of Fatullah. He was a worker at Azizur Rahman Hosiery Factory at UKilpara in the town.

Police suspect that Siam might have been strangled to death as his body bore injury marks on the throat. To ascertain the reason of death, the body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy, said Kamrul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Narayanganj Sadar Model Police Station.

Quoting family members, he said Siam got out of work around 9:00pm on Sunday, but did not return home that night. Worried, his family members started looking for him in the area. 

Meanwhile, locals informed the police after finding a body lying in DIT colony area in the morning. Being informed, Siam's family members later identified

the body.

Investigation is underway to find out the reasons behind the death and a case will be filed in this connection, The OC added.
