Freedom fighter Dr Rabiul dies

Freedom fighter Dr Kazi Robiul Haque died of liver cancer on Saturday night at Birdem Hospital in Dhaka. He was 79.

He left behind his wife, a daughter and a son.

Yesterday, after Dr Rabiul's body was taken to Jashore, he was given state honours followed by namaz-e-janaza at Jashore Eidgah ground. He was buried at Karbala graveyard in Jashore town, said members of his family.

Various social, political and professional organisations as well as individuals and eminent personalities expressed deep condolence at the death of Dr Rabiul.
