Freedom fighter Chin Sangma dies

Freedom fighter Chin Sangma passed away at 4am yesterday at his house in Dharati under Madhupur upazila of Tangail due to old-age complications.

He was 85 years old.

Chin left behind his children to mourn his death.

He was buried on his house premises at 3pm the same day with state honour.

Chin Sangma of Garo community in Madhupur, along with his two friends went to India at the age of 38 to train for the Liberation War.

After being there for a month, he returned to the country and took part in the war under Company Commander Anisur Rahman and Platoon Commander Kazi Nuru.
