Free flow of information must for agri advancement

The agriculture sector can be revolutionised if a free and open flow of information is ensured, particularly among farmers and journalists, said speakers at a dialogue yesterday.

The sector has improved a lot in recent decades. It will advance further if the government keeps farmers updated about new agricultural innovations, helping them increase productions, they said.

The dialogue -- “Agro-based Media Dialogue 2019” -- was organised by Agriculture Information Service of the agriculture ministry in Dhaka.

Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzaque was chief guest at  the event. Dhaka University Associate Prof Shameem Reza, Agriculture Ministry Secretary Md Nasiruzzaman, AIS Director Nurul Islam and journalists spoke at the dialogue.
