FR Tower Probe: ACC seeks info from 9 govt agencies

The Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday sent letters to nine government agencies, seeking necessary information to investigate the alleged corruption in the construction of FR Tower, where a deadly fire left 26 people dead last sweek.

ACC Public Relations Officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said the anti-graft body asked the agencies to provide information within three working days.

The agencies are -- Rajuk, Fire Service and Civil Defence, Civil Aviation Authority, DoE, DMP, two Dhaka city corporations, Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority and Dhaka Wasa.

On Wednesday, ACC assigned its deputy director to initiate an inquiry to find out those involved in constructing additional floors of FR Tower, violating building code.
