Fr Charles J Young foundation launched

A foundation has been established under the name of Fr Charles J Young, founder of The Christian Cooperative Credit Union (CCCUI) Ltd Dhaka and pioneer of the credit union movement in Bangladesh, said a press release.  

Fr Frank Quinlivan, development director of Notre Dame University, inaugurated the foundation on Thursday at CCCUI’s head office, marking Young’s 31st death anniversary.

Founder Chairperson of the foundation and President of Dhaka Credit Babu Markus Gomes chaired the  event.

The foundation will contribute to various fields, such as research on cooperatives, spreading the credit movement, and sponsorships and scholarships for poor students, among others.
