Former BAU VC Mohammad Farouk no more

Dr Shah Mohammad Farouk, former vice chancellor of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) in Mymensingh, passed away at BSMMU, Dhaka yesterday.

He breathed his last at the ICU of corona block in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, said a press release.

Dr Farouk left behind his wife, two sons and daughters-in-law, and three grandchildren.

Eldest son of late Rahima Begum and late Shah Wajed Ali, Farouk completed his BSc-in-Mechanical Engineering from East Pakistan University of Engineering and Technology (EPUET) (now Buet) in 1963.

Following all health guidelines, he was laid to rest beside his parents at Golkibari graveyard in Mymensingh city yesterday afternoon.
