Foreign minister of Maldives arrives today

Maldives Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid is coming on a three-day visit to Dhaka today as the two countries are working to strengthen bilateral relations.

During the visit, Abdullah Shahid will hold a bilateral meeting with his Bangladesh counterpart AK Abdul Momen on February 9, says a statement of the foreign ministry.

Momen and Shahid will also witness the signing of an MoU on cooperation between the Bangladesh Foreign Service Academy and the Foreign Service Institute of Maldives.

Bangladesh and the Maldives share excellent bilateral relation which has been strengthened over the years.  Around 80,000 Bangladeshi expatriate workers are currently working in that country.
