Fire at high-rise in Dhaka's Banani under control

A fire broke out at a high-rise building in Dhaka's Banani area this morning. 

The fire originated around 11:30am on the 14th floor of Ahmed Tower, a high-rise next to FR Tower, where a fire in 2019 claimed 27 lives.

Eight fire fighting units are trying to douse it, said Anisur Rahman, a firefighter of the Fire Service and Civil Defence Control room. 

The cause of the fire could not be known immediately.

UPDATE: The fire at Ahmed Tower was doused at 12:25pm and no casualties have so far been reported, fire-fighters at the scene have said.
