Fire guts houses, shops in Ctg

A fire broke out in Rasulbag residential area in Chawk Bazar in the port city last night, gutting valuables of 10 houses and several shops.

The fire started at 8:05pm and was brought under control at 9:05pm by 10 vehicles of the department, said Jashim Uddin Ahmed, Deputy Assistant Director of Fire Service and Civil Defence Chattogram zone.

The origin of the fire and the amount of loss could not be determined by the department until filing of this report at 10:30pm.
