Fair against child marriage in Savar

To prevent child marriage and increase awareness among youths, a daylong “community fair” was held at Savar Upazila Parishad yesterday.

Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program (RHSTEP), an NGO; Savar upazila administration and upazila women affairs office organised the event.

The fair was also organised to generate awareness on the negative impacts of drug addiction, said organisers.

Pranob Kumar Ghosh, assistant commissioner of land in Savar, inaugurated the fair, chaired by Khaleda Akther, the upazila women affairs officer.

Valerie Ann Tailor, founder and coordinator of CRP, Mashudul Haque, consultant of RHSTEP, were present as special guests.
