Facilities for kidney patients launched at United Hospital

United Hospital launched haemodiafiltration and bio impedance for dialysis patients, marking World Kidney Day yesterday, says a press release.

Throughout the day, more than 500 patients availed free health checkup from the booth at the hospital lobby.

On the occasion, Dr Shagufa Anwar said to manage kidney disease and its consequent complications, United Hospital with its multidisciplinary service is always ready to serve patients.

Consultant Nephrology Dr Tanveer Bin Latif said haemodialysis is not just a machine, it is a treatment management system which requires technical expertise.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Associate Consultant Nephrology Dr Tania Mahbub said kidney patient needs regular follow up in 2-3 months interval during dialysis sessions.

Haemodialysis In-charge Dr Dewan Nabidur Rahman also spoke on the occasion.

To observe the day, the hospital authorities also held a seminar participated by the doctors, nurses and employees.
