Ex-Jamaat MP shown arrested in another case

Former Jamaat-e-Islami lawmaker ANM Shamsul Islam was shown arrested yesterday in another case filed with the port city's Panchlaish Police Station in 2016.

Earlier, he was sent to jail in connection with five other cases filed with Lohagara and Satkania police stations, after he surrendered before the court on Monday.

Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Salem Md Noman passed the order, said Assistant Commissioner (Prosecution) Kazi Shahabuddin Ahmed of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

ANM Shamsul Islam is a top leader of Jamaat-e-Islami and also former lawmaker of Chattogram-15 constituency.
