Evercare Hospital begins operations in port city

Global healthcare consortium Evercare Group has started operating its second chain hospital Evercare Hospital Chattogram, providing both outdoor and indoor health services since early April.

The 470-bed hospital is located in the Ananna Residential Area of the port city's Hathazari area. It is the first ever multi-disciplinary super-specialty tertiary care hospital in Chattogram, said officials.

"Evercare Hospital Chattogram is determined to support the people of Chattogram and take care of all their healthcare needs," hospital COO Nilesh Gupta told The Daily Star on Thursday.

The hospital is also well-equipped with Covid-19 treatment facility, officials added.

Evercare Group CEO Massimiliano Colella said it is the only 470-bed multidisciplinary hospital of international standard in Chattogram.

Officials said Evercare built the hospital with treatment of heart diseases in mind, given its high incidence in the city.

Construction for the hospital started in September 2014 on about one acre of land. The construction cost was Tk 850 crore.

The hospital will be officially inaugurated after the Covid-19 situation improves in the country.
