Ensure healthcare at lower cost

President Abdul Hamid yesterday urged physicians to provide proper medical treatment to patients at lower cost.

“Ensure medical services for people at lower cost,” the president said when a delegation of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) met him at Bangabhaban.

BSMMU Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Kanak Kanti Barua led the 10-member delegation. President's Press Secretary M Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the meeting.

“Getting treatment is one of the fundamental rights of people and the physicians should perform their responsibilities with utmost devotion and sincerity...,”Hamid said.

He called upon BSMMU authorities to take pragmatic steps to ensure proper treatment of various fatal diseases and conduct research on the diseases.
