Elderly couple found dead at home

An elderly couple were found dead in Noli village of Barguna Sadar yesterday.

Police recovered the bodies of Abdul Mannan, 75, and his wife Fatima Begum, 65, from their house in the morning.

 “We detained their eldest son Nazrul Islam and his wife Bithee Akhter for interrogation. Their other son, Nayan, went into hiding after the incident,” said Abir Mohammad Hossain, officer-in-charge of Barguna Police Station.

Nazrul and his wife used to pressurise Fatima to hand over a piece of land to them, which she refused, the OC quoted neighbours as saying.
