Three more prosecution witnesses, including a police sub-inspector, today gave their depositions before a Dhaka tribunal in connection with a case filed over the rape of a DU student in the city's Kurmitola area.

The two other witnesses are civilians who were present during the time of preparing a seizure list, and also gave their depositions before the tribunal today.

Judge Begum Mosammat Quamrunnahar of the Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal-7 of Dhaka recorded their statements.

Later, they were cross-examined by the defence lawyer on behalf of the accused.

Court sources said during the investigation that the sub-inspector made a seizure list of alamats in presence of two other civilians.

The witnesses also demanded exemplary punishment for the accused.

The tribunal then fixed October 11 for next hearing of the case.

Earlier, the victim, her father and six others gave their statements before the same tribunal.

During today's hearing, the lone accused -- Majnu -- was produced before the tribunal.

On January 5, a DU student was raped while she was walking from Kurmitola bus stop to a friend's house near Shewra Rail gate in the capital around 7:30pm after getting off a university bus.
