15kgs of amphetamine powder seized from Biman flight

Dhaka Customs House officials today seized over 15 kilogrammes of amphetamine powder from a flight of Biman at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka.

The officials in cooperation with the Civil Aviation seized 15.658 kgs of the narcotics which were hidden in a consignment of clothes for export. The shipment was on a Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight scheduled for Australia via Hong Kong.

The drug has already been sent to the Department of Narcotics Control for chemical testing.

The department will brief media over the recovery at 11:30am tomorrow.
