Dr Belal dies

Rotarian Dr Belal Samad passed away on September 6 at Emory Hospital in Georgia, USA, after battling with different health issues. He was 67.

Dr Samad left behind his mother, sons Nafees and Shabbir, grandchildren and friends.

A social worker, Belal will be remembered for organising cataract surgeries for poor patients.

His first janaza was held on Sunday in Georgia. His second janaza will be held at Dhanmondi Eidgah Mosque tomorrow after Juma prayers, following which he will be buried at Banani graveyard.
