Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) yesterday sprayed antiseptic in different areas as part of its effort to prevent coronavirus.

"We have started the drive on Sunday to prevent coronavirus and sprayed 7.5 lakh square feet area. This will continue according to necessity," said an official of DNCC.

He said they have sprayed antiseptic through three water bowsers at Karwan Bazar, Mirpur's Tolarbagh, Kuwait-Maitri Hospital, National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation, Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College & Hospital, spaces adjacent to Dhaka Children's Hospital and National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.

DNCC sprayed around 50,000 litre antiseptic through the water bowsers at these areas, said another official of the city corporation.

"We are also spraying antiseptic liquid lane-by-lane at different areas through hand sprays," he said.

A water bowser can carry 1600 litre antiseptic at a time, said another official of DNCC.

DNCC has ten water bowsers, of which five are being used to spray antiseptic liquid while five others are being used to spray water.

"We are going to bring ten more water bowsers, hopefully by April," he said.

DNCC also set up hand washing facilities at 16 places in Mohammadpur under ward-31, he added.
