Dil Monowara Monu no more

Senior journalist Dil Monowara Monu passed away at Birdem Hospital in Dhaka early yesterday at 68.

Monu was taken to the hospital with breathing complications. Doctors pronounced her dead shortly after arrival.

Her namaz-e-janaza was held at Jatiya Press Club.

Monu started her career in 1974 at “Begum” magazine, and later served fortnightly “Anayna” for 25 years as executive editor.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock at the death.
