Cumilla University MCJ dept celebrates 4th founding day

The Department of Mass Communication and Journalism of Cumilla University celebrated its 4th founding day on the campus yesterday.

To mark the occasion, a day long programme was arranged by Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan, assistant professor and former chairman of the department. The day began with a colourful rally was brought out on the campus.

The programme was inaugurated by Dr Golam Rahman, former information commissioner and professor of Journalism at DU, while Emran Kabir Chowdhury, Vice Chancellor of Cumilla University was present as the chief guest.

A seminar titled "Is journalism is just a profession?" was also held. The meeting was presided over by Belal Hossain, acting chairman of journalism department in Cumilla University.  

In the seminar speakers discussed about the role Digital communication in journalism, new challenges and global demand.

A prize giving ceremony and cultural programme followed the seminar.
