Covid-19: Another 14 die, 1,531 new cases recorded

Fourteen people died of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours till 8am, raising the death toll to 6,173, said a press release of Directorate General of Health Services. 

It also said total infections have increased to 4,30,496, as 1,531 new cases were confirmed during the same time. 

The recovery count rose to 3,47,849, after another 1,462 patients were discharged from hospitals during the period, it said. 

A total of 11,795 samples were tested at 115 authorised laboratories across the country in the 24 hours, and of those, 12.98 percent tested positive.

Of the total tests conducted so far, Covid-19 cases were detected in 17.03 percent of patients, the release added. 

Among total infections, 80.80 percent of patients have recovered, while 1.43 percent died.

Meanwhile, 13 people died from Covid-19 in 24 hours ending at 8am on Friday while 1,845 fresh cases were recorded in the same 24-hour period.
