Cops suspect business rivalry behind Jamal's murder

Law enforcers are yet to arrest anyone over the murder of local Swechhasebak League leader Jamal Uddin, who was hacked to death in Patiya upazila on Monday.

Officer-in-Charge Neyamat Ullah of Patiya Police Station told reporters Jamal had longstanding business rivalry with few ruling party men in Patiya.

“This rivalry may be the motive behind the murder,” he said, adding police have vital information including names of the persons involved.

Jamal was hacked to death in Kolagaon area of Patiya upazila on Monday.

No case was filed in this connection, said the OC.
