Col Mia Md Jahangir passes away

Colonel (retired) Mia Mohammad Jahangir, psc of Bangladesh Army, passed away at 9:15am on Wednesday at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka. He was 76.

He was suffering from blood cancer.

Col Jahangir joined the then Pakistan Army in 1968. After the Liberation War, he worked in several sectors of Bangladesh Army and Border Guard Bangladesh.

He was born to an aristocrat family in Barishal and was the fourth son of late Altaf Uddin Ahmed and late Zebunnesa Begum.

He left behind his wife, children, in-laws, grand children, siblings, and a host of friends and relatives.

His namaz-e-janaza was held at Mohakhali DOHS Mosque and he was buried at Banani Military graveyard.

A doa mahfil will be held tomorrow at the mosque for seeking peace for his departed soul.
