Clash over playing badminton: teenager killed, 2 injured in Dhaka’s Keraniganj area

A teenager was killed and two others were injured in a clash between two groups in Dhaka's Keraniganj area following a brawl over playing badminton last night.

The deceased was identified as Sanju, 15, a resident of Kalindi area.

Two groups of boys started fighting over playing badminton around 10:00 pm, leaving at least three injured. The injured were rushed to Sir Salimullah Medical College and Mitford Hospital where the on-duty doctor declared Sanju dead, said Ashim Kumar Biswas, sub-inspector of Keraniganj Police Station.

There were injury marks on the deceased's chest, he said, adding two others were receiving treatment at the hospital.

Police picked up two siblings in connection with the killing.

Filing of a case is underway in this regard.
