Child’s body recovered from canal

Fire-fighters yesterday recovered the body of a four-year-old boy, who drowned in Manda canal in the city’s Mugda on Sunday.

Divers recovered the body of Asadul at 9:10am, said Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence.

Asadul drowned in the canal around 4pm on Sunday. Divers had failed to recover the body and called off their search that night, Hossain said.

Another team is still in search for five-year-old Toha Moni, who drowned in a ditch in Kodomtoli area on Saturday, he added.
