Bus driver held with 10,000 yaba pills

Police arrested a bus driver with 10,000 yaba pills in Chattogram city’s Firingi Bazar area early yesterday.

The arrestee, Abdur Rashid, is from Kahaloo in Bogura, said detectives.

The Detective Branch of police intercepted an empty bus at Bridge Ghat in the area. The contraband drugs were found under the driver’s seat, said Sub-inspector Mominul Hasan of Chattogram Metropolitan Police.

With a sticker reading “reserve” on the windscreen, the driver was carrying the yaba tablets from Cox’s Bazar to Bogura, said the SI. Rashid used to transport the pills this way on a regular basis, the SI added.
