Bullet-hit body found in Ashulia

Police recovered the bullet-hit body of an unidentified man, from Moragang area of Ashulia in the early hours of yesterday.

The body was recovered at around 1am from an area beside Abdullahpur–Baipail–DEPZ road, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ashulia Police Station Rezaul Haque told The Daily Star.

Law enforcers also recovered a firearm and four rounds of ammunition, which were lying beside the body, said the OC.

They are suspecting that the man was a member of a robbery gang and he might have been killed due to a dispute regarding distribution of robbed money, Rezaul Haque added.

The body was first taken to Savar Upazila Health Complex and was later sent to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College Hospital for autopsy.

Amjadul Haque, upazila health and family planning officer of Savar, said the body bore two bullet wounds in the chest.
