Brig Gen (retd) Zahed Latif no more

Brig Gen (retd) Zahed Latif, former chairman of Rural Electrification Board and former MD of Sena Kalyan Sangstha, passed away following a cardiac arrest at Asgar Ali Hospital on May 26. He was 76, says a press release.

He left behind his wife, a daughter, son-in-law, two grandchildren and a host of relatives, former colleagues and friends to mourn his death.

He attended Faujdarhat Cadet College and the then Pakistan Military Academy. He was a member of the 29th graduating batch of the PMA.

During his lifelong career in Corp of Engineers, he served with distinction on several critical endeavours, including building of the Karakorum Highway and setting up of the Engineer Centre and School of Military Engineering in Kaderabad. He also served as the military attaché at the Bangladesh Embassy in Beijing, China.

Zahed Latif’s qulkhwani will be held at 10am on Friday at his Eskaton Garden Road residence.
