Boy rescued nine days after abduction

A five-year-old boy, who was kidnapped nine days ago in Arjunpara area of Savar, was rescued yesterday.

Police also arrested the kidnapper, Morzina Begum, 40, from Baghbari area of the district.

Officer-in-charge AFM Sayeed of Savar Model Police Station said, “Morzina kidnapped Tuhin, from his house on July 3 afternoon saying she would give him some biscuits. The boy was home alone at the time.”

Family members started searching as soon as they noticed the boy was missing but could not find him. Later Tuhin’s father filed a general diary with Savar Police Station, said the OC.

Police conducted several drives to track the boy. “We are interrogating the kidnapper,” said OC Sayeed, adding that the child was handed over to his family.
