BNP welcomes Jatiya Muktimancha

BNP has welcomed the newly formed platform by Liberal Democratic Party President Oli Ahmed called “Jatiya Muktimancha”.

“Any political party has full freedom to take up any political programme. BNP welcomes any initiative for Khaleda Zia’s release and restoration of democracy,” BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir told journalists after placing wreaths at the grave of party founder Ziaur Rahman in the capital.

Oli Ahmed yesterday announced to float the new platform to realise their 18-point demand.

Their demands include the release of Khaleda Zia and restoration of democracy.

Referring to Rifat’s murder in Barguna, Fakhrul said due to the politicisation of law enforcement forces, incidents like Rifat’s murder is happening every now and then as culprits go unpunished.
