Bir Protik Taramon Bibi transferred to Dhaka CMH

Bir Protik Taramon Bibi was transferred to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital (CMH) from Mymensingh CMH yesterday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, the 70-year-old was admitted to Razibpur Upazila Health Complex in Kurigram with severe respiratory problems.

She was given oxygen immediately after she had been admitted to the Mymensingh CMH, Deputy Commissioner Dr Suvash Chandra Biswas quoted doctors as saying.

When her respiratory problem improved at a reasonable level, she was flown to Dhaka CMH for better treatment, he added.

In 2016, the freedom fighter was admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital due to severe respiratory and lung diseases.

Taramon Bibi is one of the only two women who received the “Bir Protik” award for gallantry in the 1971 Liberation War.
