Bike accident leaves one dead, one injured in Dhaka

A motorcyclist died and another person was injured after their bike hit a road divider in Dhaka's Kakrail area this evening.

The deceased was identified as Sakib, 25, an employee of a clothing shop in Mirpur area.

His friend Didar, 27, also a shop employee, was receiving treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.  

Talking to reporters at the hospital, Didar said they went out with the motorcycle from Mirpur as their shops were shut.

As they were heading towards Gulistan, Sakib lost control over the bike and hit the road divider around 6:45pm, leaving both of them injured.

They were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Sakib dead around 7:30pm, said sub-inspector Habibur Rahman of Ramna Police Station.

The body was sent to the hospital morgue for autopsy.
