Better Treatment: Textile minister to be flown to S’pore today

Ailing Textile and Jute Minister Golam Dastagir Gazi, who is currently admitted to the capital’s Asgar Ali Hospital due to pneumonia, will be taken to Singapore for better treatment today.

The minister will be taken to Singapore General Hospital by an air ambulance this morning, a ministry press release said yesterday. He is now at the ICU of the hospital as his condition has deteriorated, it added.

Golam Dastagir Gazi participated in the Liberation War under Sector-2. As a fighter of the famous “crack platoon”, he participated in various front wars. In recognition of his contribution to the war, the government honoured him with the title “Bir Pratik”.
