Bazlul Karim Chowdhury passes away

Bazlul Karim Chowdhury, a retired bureaucrat, passed away yesterday, said a condolence message by M Shahidul Islam, deputy commissioner of Tangail.

Bazlul Karim had served as deputy commissioner of Tangail from 2009 to 2012.

The 61-year-old was admitted to Mugda General Hospital on May 22 with Covid-19 infection. He was later shifted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on May 23.

Bazlul's wife Nazmoon Naher Lipy, who is also infected with coronavirus, is undergoing treatment at the same hospital, the message read.

Born in Rajbari district, Bazlul had served as chairman of Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (Rajuk) and the commissioner of Dhaka division.

He was admin cadre official of 1985 batch of Bangladesh Civil Services (BCS), added the message.
