The health condition of Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, who was diagnosed with Covid-19, has improved, but he is still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka.

"The health condition of the attorney general is now stable. His son met him this morning. I am trying to inquire about his physical condition every now and then," Law Minister Anisul Huq told The Daily Star today.

Praying for quick and complete recovery of Advocate Mahbubey Alam, the minister said the doctors are trying their best for his treatment.

Contacted, the attorney general's wife Binota Mahbub said, "He [Mahbubey Alam] can now talk to people and recognise them. I am very much grateful to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Law Minister Anisul Huq for their cordial help and cooperation to ensure proper treatment for him," she said.

Binota Mahbub requested all to pray for the recovery of the state's top law official.

Advocate Mahbubey Alam was admitted to CMH for treatment after he tested positive for Covid-19 on September 4.

He was taken to the ICU yesterday morning after his condition suddenly deteriorated.
