Architect Mahbub, wife Afreen pass away in USA

Renowned Bangladeshi-American architect Mahbub Hasan Dewan and his wife Afreen Dewan, a social activist, died from Covid-19 in Dallas in a span of 10 days.

Mahbub, founder and president of D1 Architect & Associates in Dallas, USA, expired on January 7 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, aged 65.

Earlier on December 27 last year, Afreen, its vice-president, breathed her last at the same hospital, at the age of 60.

The couple left behind their only child Mashrur Dewan, and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn their deaths.

Mahbub Dewan began his career as an assistant professor at the architecture department of Buet, family sources said.

In a tweet, the Plano community said it has lost a wonderful couple who stood for the cause of humanitarian services.
