Alpana’s cookbook wins Gourmand Award

Culinarian Alpana Habib’s cookbook “Alpana’s Cooking” has been recognised at the 24th Gourmand World Cookbook Awards, held in Macao on Thursday.

The achievement is a first for a Bangladeshi, according to a press release.

Of the 12 finalists under the category of “First Book”, Alpana’s cookbook was one of the five that were nominated for the award.

This year, there were entries from 216 countries and regions in different categories.

“Alpana’s Cooking”, published last year, is a compilation of 250 of her most popular recipes.

Her cooking shows were aired on several TV channels.
