ACC sues Patuakhali municipality accountant

Anti-Corruption Commission yesterday sued Patuakhali municipality accountant SM Shahin over amassing illegal wealth worth over Tk 2.74 crore.

Deputy Assistant Director Arif Hossain of the anti-graft watchdog filed the case with Patuakhali Police Station.

Accordance to the case, as per a notice issued by the ACC last year, Shahin submitted his wealth statement to it on December 11, 2018.

After investigation, the ACC found discrepancy that he amassed wealth worth Tk 2.74 crore beyond his source of income, said ACC official Arif Hossain.

However, SM Shahin denied the allegation. “The case was filed to harass me,” he said.
