ACC finds free medicine being sold at IDH

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) today raided Infectious Diseases Hospital in Mohakhali and found proof of irregularities in distributing free medicine.

Later, the ACC team also raided different pharmacies adjacent to the hospital and seized good amount of those free medicines, the ACC says in a press release.

They also sealed off some unauthorised pharmacies in the area for selling the government allocated medicines, according to the press release.

The team also found that a group of dishonest government officials were engaged in supplying the free medicine to the pharmacies.

ACC Director General Munir Chowdhury said his commission will investigate the matter. “We must bring those who amassed wealth through illegal means to book,” he said.
