8 returnees from China doing well in hospitals

Eight of the Bangladeshi returnees from the coronavirus-hit Chinese city of Wuhan, who were quarantined at different hospitals for having a fever, are doing well.

Brig General Jamilur Reza, director of Kurmitola General Hospital, said of the 312 Bangladeshi returnees, seven are admitted there and have been kept in quarantine.

One more was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital, said Prof Meerjady Sabrina Flora, director of the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control and Research.

All eight would be in quarantine for 14 days.

The Bangladeshis were brought from China’s Wuhan yesterday.

Apart from the eight, the remaining have been kept on the second floor of Ashkona Hajj Camp where they too would be kept in quarantine for 14 days.

The returnees include 18 children.

Bangladesh Army will supervise camp activities during the quarantine period.
