8 coaching centres sealed off, fined in Dhaka

A mobile court of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) today sealed off eight coaching centres in Dhaka’s Jatrabari and Dania areas and fined them for continuing their operation defying a government ban.

The mobile court of Gausul Azam, executive magistrate of Rab Headquarters, and a team of Rab-10 conducted the drive in the areas under Jatrabari and Kadamtali police stations and sealed off the eight coaching centres for defying the ban on continuing coaching classes during the ongoing Secondary School Certificate (SSC) exams, according to a Rab press release.

The coaching centres were also fined different amounts ranging from Tk 500 to Tk 5,000, the release read.

The Rab team also handed over Mosharraf Hossain and Golam Maola, teachers of maths and physics respectively at Jatrabari Ideal School and College, to the principal of the institution for taking departmental action against them for operating coaching centres at their residences, it added.
