77 promoted to senior assistant judge

Seventy-seven assistant judges have been promoted to senior assistant judge on advice from the Supreme Court.

The law ministry issued a gazette notification to this effect yesterday, asking the newly promoted judges to discharge their duties at their current post until further order.

The new senior assistant judges will get salaries and allowances under article 13 of Bangladesh Judicial Service (Salary and Allowances) Order, 2016.

They joined as assistant judges on different dates in 2014 and 2015, according to the gazette notification.
