Human Trafficking

6 women return from India

Six Bangladeshi women who were trafficked to India returned yesterday with the help of development organisation Brac.

These women were trafficked in different times of this year.

Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) handed them over to Border Guard Bangladesh through Banglabandha border at noon.

Family members of the women were also present there.

Later, they returned to their families following necessary health check-up at Banglabandha Upazila Health Complex.

“Brac has taken 360-degree approach to prevent human trafficking. These women will receive skills training so that they can be independent, and they will be given psychological and social counselling,” said Jenefa Jabbar, director of Brac’s human rights and legal aid programme.
